The following questions and answers are intended to help you gain a basic understanding of how our personal vehicle tracking product can help monitor travel activities, or help keep track of mileage and billing hours for small businesses or individuals. How does TE2 work? TE2 can plug into the cigarette lighter or is wired and hidden inside the vehicle and records the complete travel route of the driver. When the vehicle returns home, the TE2 unit is removed from the vehicle and downloaded into the computer for viewing. Maps of your town, complete with streets, are built into TE2 software, conveniently allowing you to record the entire travel route of the vehicle. Along with other information, travel data includes the address of each stop, mileage and the speed of the vehicle throughout the route. All travel data is displayed on your computer screen or if preferred, printed out. In what form does TE2 provide the travel information? Once downloaded to your computer, TE2 software reveals the complete route of the vehicle by displaying it on-screen, or it may be printed out in the form of detailed maps complete with street names, destinations and other travel activities - including speed of the vehicle. How does TE2 indicate speed of the vehicle? TE2 software mapping shows the speed of each vehicle by color-coding the travel route. Each color corresponds to a different speed as indicated by a legend. What are the system requirements for the software? There are no monthly fees for TE2 because acquiring the GPS signal is free. The only cost is the unit itself -- a one time charge. Is TE2 difficult to install? No, you simply install the software, install the unit on your car, and drive. If you need it to be hidden from view, we have included at no charge, a discrete wiring adapter. How many days/weeks can the unit record before you must download? The TE2 unit has enough memory to record approximately 25 to 50 hours of actual drive time (vehicle movement). This does not include time when the vehicle is stopped since the TE2 unit only collects data when the vehicle is in motion. Why use TE2? TE2 is the silent partner that allows you to keep track of all the family members who travel in the car. 1) Discover if your teenager or spouse went where he/she said he/she was going. 2) Monitors speeds 3) Find out exactly where they went...print out their route street by street. 4) Records every stop over one minute. 5) Provides miles traveled 6) Shows time spent at each location. 7) Its small size is designed to be easily concealed from view. Since this device is powered through the cigarette lighter, wouldn't concealment be difficult? You can purchase a direct connect cable that you wire directly into the fuse box or the battery of the vehicle for approximately $12.00 that solves that problem. SPECIAL: Included for FREE with purchase If the GPS antenna needs to point skywards-- how can this be done without the knowledge of the driver? The system has an active antenna that allows you to put it in a lot of places you usually can't with other GPS devices. It is tiny, only 1.5" x 1.5" x 0.75" with a 6' cable that connects to the TE2 unit. It can be placed under the dash, in the back window, behind a rubber or plastic bumper, under the seat, inside air-intakes, under molding or the hard rubber grill covers on trucks, under the car with the antenna pointed down or at the edge of the vehicle using the magnetic mount. Just don't put it under solid metal like the hood or trunk. It has an LED light that glows red when powered and green when it has acquired the GPS signal. When you have a green light, its active!
